ACCREDITED LEARNERSHIP PROGRAMMES
If an individual displays shortfalls in their experience or skills and would like to address these obstacles, an Accredited Learnership Programme will allow them to take the necessary steps to furthering their career. In the same way, brands who have identified key skills shortages in their team can leverage this service to bolster their brand’s workforce. A learnership is a structured learning programme which includes theoretical and practical workplace experiential learning over a period of at least 12 months and which leads to an occupationally related qualification registered on the National Qualifications Framework (NQF). An Accredited Learnership Programme allows both individuals and brands to harness fundamental proficiencies that improve productivity, profitability, and overall job satisfaction.
ENTERPRISE DEVELOPMENT BENEFICIARY
ENTERPRISE DEVELOPMENT BENEFICIARY Combined, Enterprise Development (ED) and Supplier Development (SD) form one of the three priority elements of the Broad-Based Black Economic Empowerment (B-BBEE) Scorecard. An entity is required to achieve a 40% subminimum of each of the categories on the ED and SD Scorecard, and failure to comply with the prescribed subminimum leads to a drop of one level on the B-BBEE scorecard. Enterprise Development is a contribution to a black owned business (EME or QSE with at least 51% Black Ownership) that is not part of the Measured Entity’s (ME) supplier chain. The nature of the contribution, which can be monetary or non-monetary is aimed to increase the business both financially and operationally. Supplier Development is a contribution to a black owned business (EME or QSE with at least 51% Black Ownership) that is part of the Measured Entity’s (ME) supplier chain. The nature of the contribution, which can be monetary or non-monetary is aimed to increase the business both financially and operationally. This can often be confusing for businesses, leading to an inability to adhere to legislative prerequisites. The Skills Development Corporation boasts over a decade in these areas of expertise and can easily oversee and manage these processes on your business’ behalf.
LEARNER SOURCING AND PLACEMENT
Despite efforts and intervention from both government and the private sector, there remains educational and employment disparities that must be addressed in South Africa. Learner Sourcing & Placement assists businesses in identifying candidates for upskilling and internal placement. In turn, this allows brands to address internal shortfalls in their workforce, while enriching the lives of B-BBEE aligned candidates. In summary, Learner Sourcing & Placement refers to the act of sourcing B-BBEE aligned, unemployed candidates, both abled and disabled. These candidates are sourced in accordance with Provincial or National Economically Active Population (EAP) Targets. At the end of the Learnership, the Skills Development Corporation strives to assist companies with the absorption of their learners in sustainable and suitable positions. It is paramount to this service for our learners to achieve full-time employment. Brands that utilize this service both empower and are empowered by suitable candidates that meet the criteria to address key-role shortfalls.
SKILLS AUDIT
Irrespective of the scale of an organisation, skills shortages and skills misplacement can be likened to holes in the hull of a ship. While your business may survive for a time, it is impossible to stay afloat while these issues go unaddressed. Conducting a Skills Audit is the first step in developing a Skills Development Solution applicable to the training needs of an organisation. We ensure that your desired Skills Development expenditure target is met, and therefore, there are no shortfalls or overspending. The solution that the Skills Development Corporation subsequently proposes will add value to your organisation and employees. A business that frequently identifies and directs focus on critical training needs is a business that easily pivots to an ever-changing landscape and subsequently prospers. Likewise, employees that are frequently audited and upskilled are proven to enjoy increased job-satisfaction, internal growth, and continued, self-driven learnership.
